A Long Legacy of Helping Others
As school begins, students walk by the framed portrait of Helen Beckley in the Nursing building named in her honor, yet they may not know her story. She was chairman of the nursing department from 1965-1975 and secured over $2 million in grants (nearly $13 million today!) through dedication and perseverance to make a vision a reality. She wanted the best for her students.
Helen’s legacy of compassionate care lives on through students like Randy Hudspeth, who attended while Helen was a professor. Randy used the education he received from Idaho State to receive multiple advanced degrees in Nursing and was a nursing leader at Saint Alphonsus and later as a CNO with the Cleveland Clinic Health System.
To continue this legacy, Stephen Beckley and Randy have both offered challenges to inspire others to support our undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. Please help us support Idaho State nursing students and unlock their challenges today!
This last year Heather and her family benefited from your investment.
I hope that you understand how truly grateful I am for the opportunity of being chosen for this scholarship. It allowed me to be able to purchase all my books and supplemental material required for the program without putting a financial burden on my family.
Will you honor the nursing legacy by helping the next student like Heather?
